Kizzy Update

It has been quite awhile since I wrote or talked to anyone about Kizzy and Jenny and Deacon.  Partly because there hasn't been a lot that has changed and partly because I just can't bring myself to put any energy into that whole situation.  But since it has been so long and several people have asked me how things are going and things are a better...here is a quick update.

Kizzy spent most of December (I think all but 6 or 8 days) with her Nana and Papa (her dad's parents).  That is a safe, stable place for her.  When she stays with them she is able to spend the weekends with her dad.  His schedule doesn't really allow him to keep her during the week.  We didn't mean for the whole month to go by without seeing her, but since Stony's schedule changed and she spent the weekends with her dad and December is just...well nuts, we had not seen her since the 7th. Well, she had not been at our house.  Jenny brought her into the bowling alley a few times so Stony has seen her.  And I honestly don't know when the last time I saw Deacon.  Thanksgiving I think.

This last week though, things have changed a little.  Jenny kicked Jon out.  Which has happened a number of time before, but it feels to me like this time it might stick...I could be wrong, but I sure hope not!  Jeanette (Kizzy's Nana) realized how long it had been since Kizzy had been with us.  So we picked her up last Sunday night and she spent the night with us.  Then Jenny came down and picked her up and took her to Bounce.  Jenny invited me, which in itself is strange and wonderful.  Jenny and I get along fine, we just have not done anything together in years.

Then Jenny asked me to watch Deacon on Tuesday.  It was kind of spur-of-the-moment.  But I didn't mind since I hadn't seen him in so long.

Then this weekend Jenny arranged it so that we would have Kizzy again and her dad graciously agreed to give up part of his weekend with her so that we could see her.  So we picked her up on Saturday afternoon and she spent the night with us.  Then my mother-in-law brought Deacon over Sunday afternoon.  Then Jenny came down later that afternoon to get them both and even hung out for a couple of hours!  While she was there, Kizzy wanted her dad to come over so Jenny told her to call him and see if he would.  And he did.  Jay (Kizzy's dad) and Jenny get a long really well.  So Jay came over and hung out for a while too.  It was so nice to have Jenny there, and a part of everything and not screaming on her phone the whole time.  And it was nice to see both kids.  And it wsa nice to have Jay there.  This Sunday we had a house full, but it was very nice!  This may sound strange, but it felt light...not heavy like when things are hard.  It was light and easy.

So there's the update.  This is really the first week things have changed at all.  And it is nice!!
