New Car

We bought a new car tonight. I am a bit overwhelmed. I kind of tense up and get a little scared about spending more than $40 at a time. It is so nice...nicer than anything either of us has ever owned before. My car, the trusty little civic has seen better days. It has 196,000 miles on it. We were hoping we could make it til 210,000 or so, but no. Once again, God has blessed us and provided for us.

We have been talking and praying, since June, about whether we should put the 1000 or so dollars into the civic that it needs to be safe and run well or do we sell/trade it and get something newer. Stony and I both felt like we should probably not put anymore into it. So just last week we decided that we definitely could not put this off anymore, we needed to trade it and get something newer. God sent a friend our way and asked if he could buy our car. I would never sell this car to just anyone...it has too many problems...but this friend is a mechanic and can fix almost everything on it for fairly cheap. Plus he was in an accident last week and needs a new commuter vehicle. So, he gave us money on Saturday and we went shopping today.

I'm excited. We did get a good deal. And this is a much newer, much safer, much better car. Stony loves it!
