FULL Weekend

This weekend was a great weekend.  It was, long and full with plenty of time to work and to play.

It started Friday night.  I came home and needed a project so I started going through some of Vicki's boxes in the garage.  She packs so funny...clothes and pictures and books and ear phones and wind chimes all in the same box.  It kind of made me giggle.  So I reorganized and condensed.  Then I put a few boxes in the attic, some back on the shelf in the garage and made a stack to take to her house--stuff she might need or want in the next few months.  It felt good.  Plus I found some awesome pictures of her parents that I am going to scan for the family.

Then Saturday, Joe and Erin stopped by (one of Stony's brother and his fiance).  They rented a house just 2 blocks from us so we went and saw it and then had lunch at JJ and Vicki's.  When Stony went to work that afternoon, mom and I decided to go truck hunting again.  (We found one about a month ago, but neither of us has felt very much peace about buying it.)  So mom and I spend several hours on the computer and then we drove all around Loveland and Fort Collins.  Wouldn't you know it, it turned out that the first place we stopped was indeed the only place that had a truck we liked in our price range.  Oh well, it was fun just being with my mom.  Then I drove her to Estes (because it was about 10 and I knew she was tired) and I hung out at the bowling alley.  It turned out to be a very busy night and we didn't leave til 2:30am.

Sunday, Stony and I slept in til 1:00.  It was wonderful.  We went and bought fireworks.  Then I gave Brodiss a haircut (Stony says he looks like a sheered sheep......he does) and Stony worked in the garden.  Bird flew away... I'm sad.  Then we went to Steph's in-laws for a bbq.  Then we were supposed to go with Aaron's side of the family and my family to Lake Loveland for the fireworks.  It started raining but we thought we could build a "lean-to" with a tarp...it kinda worked.  But they cancelled the firework show because of all the rain! :(  Steph and Mom and I were especially bummed because Aaron had taken the night off, Dad had the night off, and Stony had the night off.  (Stony and I have never had a 4th of July off together and it is rare for the other 2 men to have that night off.)  So Stony and I went to JJ's and Stony shot off a few fireworks in the driveway.

Today started by test-driving the truck mom and I found.  We really liked it and are now in the process of buying it.  Hooray!  I can give my grandparents their van back.  Then we kinda rested, but drank a lot of coffee.  So when Stony went to work, I cleaned on hyper-speed.  Then I went to my sister's house and Alyssa played outside with the cool water toy Uncle Stony got her.  Then my parents came down, and the 5 of us (mom, dad, steph, alyssa, me) all had dinner and then watched the rescheduled fireworks (without the rain).

A lot happened this weekend!  I feel like some of  the things that happened this weekend deserve a little more than a sentence here...so hopefully this next week I will be able to expand on a few things.

I hope you all had a great long weekend too!
