Sonny Died

I don't know what happened, maybe he is just old.  He hasn't been acting weird.  He was alive this morning.  He has food and water.  But when I came home tonight, he was dead.

It was just weird.  And seeing him lay on the bottom of the cage turned my stomach.  I immediately called Stony and said, "I can't deal with this."  (Meaning, I don't want this dead bird in my house, come home as soon as you possibly can (right now!) and clean this up.)  To which he said, "Don't worry about it, go in another room, I will take care of it as soon as I get home.  I'm really sorry you had to come home to that, Brit."

I know he hates dealing with stuff like this...but I'm so glad that he will for me!

So...I guess we are not meant to be bird parents right now.

The up-side is that the only thing to wake me up at 6:30 in the morning now is the city guys mowing the lawn across the street or our neurotic neighbor who does all his yard work at 7 in the morning.  The solution, close the windows and use the AC on the weekends. :)

Oh, and no more birds!

  1. Sorry you had to come home to that. I really hate that kind of thing too and would have made the same call you did to my husband. In fact, when our rabbit died a few weeks ago and I was the one to find it I started yelling for him to come and take care of it...luckily he happened to be home right then. Glad you can sleep in now though :-).
