Timeline:
10:00--Put Kizzy to bed--in my room
10:30--Put myself to bed--in my room
10:50--Deacon is standing in the hall, "I gotta go peepee."
10:51--Deacon is still standing in the hall, "I gotta go peepee!"
10:52--Deacon still in the hall, "I GOTTA GO PEEPEE!" I get up and take him to the bathroom.
11:10--finally almost asleep, Kizzy snuggles up to me; she is a little hot box and likes her arms spread out like an eagle
11:25--Dog noses me in the face and whines--time to get up and let them out even though I did that before I put myself to bed
11:35--Back in bed, dogs peed, I peed, we all drank water
11:45--Still tossing and turning having strange dreams that won't let me sleep soundly
11:55--Asleep
12:00--Jenny steps on a horrible sounding new toy of Deacon's--the wailing it makes jolts me awake and makes Deacon start whining for it. They can't find it and it repeats is horrendous wail 3 more times before turning itself off
12:10--Asleep
12:15--Stony comes home, the dogs go crazy, I'm jolted awake again
12:15-12:40--Talk to Stony, eat a snack, go to the bathroom again, Stony moves Kizzy to the couch, I'm ready to try again to go to sleep
12:45--Snuggle up next to Stony and close my eyes
1:10--Still awake trying to block out the tv
1:20--Almost asleep
2:30--Wake up because Stony is asleep and the tv is repeating the opening song on the dvd, get up and turn the tv off
4:40--Kizzy comes in our room and asks if she can watch a movie. I am barely conscious so the answer is yes.
4:50--I sit up in bed and ask, "Why is the tv on? What are you doing?" Kizzy's reply, "you said I could watch a movie?" "Oh." Go to the bathroom, let the dogs out again (assuming it was time to get up), check the clock
4:55--Me: "Kiz, you cannot watch a movie. You have to get up in an hour and a half for school, go back to bed." "But I'm scared and I need something else in my brain." (by now Stony (who never wakes up) is awake) "Can I watch a movie in the living room?" Our simultaneous answer: "No!" "Yes." Stony looks at me like I am crazy but it gets the tv off in our room, Kizzy out of our bed and I figure if she lays down out there she will go back to sleep. I lay down.
5:08--"Brit, I need help."
5:10--"Brit, can you come help me?"
5:12--"Brit! I need you. Come help me please." Ugh!
5:13--Drag myself out to the living room. "You know what Kiz? It really is not a good idea to watch a movie right now. Go to bed." "But I'm scared." "Then go lay down with your mom."
5:15--turn off the lights, the tv, head back to my room
5:16--Kizzy is still standing in the hall. "Kiz, go lay down." "Brit don't turn off the light." "Kizzy, go lay down." "Brit please don't turn off the light." "Kizzy no one can sleep with the light on. Please go lay down." (I am running out of patience!) "Brit, I'm used to sleeping with it on. I'm scared without it." "Kiz, we never leave it on when you go to sleep. I'm turning it off in 10 seconds. If you are still standing here when I get to 10, you will be standing in the dark." "But then I won't be able to see the bed." "Then you better get moving." "Briiiiiiiit." "1...2...3..." A little more whine and she makes it to bed by 8.
5:20--Lights off and I'm crawling back in bed
5:23--Jenny and Kizzy talk for a bit (I pray Deacon doesn't wake up)
5:40--Jenny gets up to go to the bathroom, Stony whispers, "Are you still awake?" "Yes, but I'm trying to go back to sleep. You?" "I think I'm awake, but I'll try too."
5:43--Jenny goes back to bed and steps on the horrible toy
5:43--Me: "God PLEASE don't let Deacon wake up."
5:43--Deacon: "I want my toooooooyyyyyy." and starts crying. UGH
5:44--Jenny: "No Deacon, go back to sleep." Conversation in their room started...
6:00--Quiet
6:15--Still awake
6:20--Jenny's phone rings
6:23--Jenny's phone rings again; Kizzy and Jenny talking about the call
6:25--Jenny gets a text
6:26--Our phone rings
6:27--Stony and Jenny start arguing about the subject of the call
6:30--Jenny, Kiz, Deacon all up and getting ready to leave the house. Jenny goes to start the car
6:31--Deacon lets out a blood curdling scream because Kizzy is touching his soda; I want to slap him; Stony gets up and yells at him
6:35--J, K, D all leave. Quiet again.
6:35--Stone: "Are you going back to sleep?" "I'd like to, but I don't know that it is worth it at this point. What time is it? ... The neighbors dog is going to start barking in 10 minutes anyway." I just lay in bed
6:45--Dog starts barking
7:00--My alarm goes off
7:05--My wonderful husband makes a wonderful pot of coffee and all I can do is laugh because REALLY?!?! This kind of stuff only happens in....oh wait...in real life.
