Bird

Bird has been annoying us lately.  We know he just wants to be a part of the family...but he is so extremely social that he wants to be a part of everything.  I'm not exaggerating.  I wish I were.  He squawks and squawks as soon as he hears me roll around in the morning because he wants to see me.  And if it is a weekend and I haven't rolled around yet, he starts squawking to get me up.  He squawks as soon as I walk in the door from work.  When we let him out, he sits on our head or our shoulder where ever we are...the laundry room, bathroom, garage, kitchen.  He sits on my cereal bowl.  He sits on the counter when I do the dishes.  He sits on the shower rod when I shower.  He sleeps on our dresser.

So we decided, since he cannot be out all the time, he needs someone to keep him company.  So we got him a friend.

Sonny is 12 years old, a little blind and came from a woman I work with.  Her son is moving and it was his bird and so they wanted him to go to a new home where he would get more attention.  I'm not sure he will get more attention here, but he has a friend.

I brought him home yesterday, and Bird and Sonny already love each other.  They both still squawk when I get home from work, but other than that, they are mostly quiet except when they talk to each other.  We will see how it goes.  So far, I'm liking this friend thing. =)
