Zelda

In our staff devotional time this morning we were talking about listening to God and prophetic prayer, and the importance of humility when praying for others.  When we start thinking about our selves: what we might say, what we might look like; if something might sound silly or dumb, if something doesn't make sense to us, we often miss what God really wants to say to us for someone else.

So our pastor had us a do an exercise where we would feel silly and we would need to humility.  It was good confirmation too that even in silly requests, God listens and answers!

Our exercise this morning was to pair up with someone and then ask God to give us a cartoon character for the other person.  Then we were to pray into that for that person.  It was really cool!

I was with our pastor.  The character he saw for me was Zelda- the warrior from the video games.  Then when he prayed into that character for me, he prayed about me being a warrior and not giving up the prayer battles I am in--the battles God has gifted me for and that He already knows about.  He prayed that I would keep fighting.  And reminded me that my armor fits well and that this character is a reflection of inner and outer beauty, my femininity and my ability to fight.

It started out sounding a little silly, but it turned out very cool.  And a lot of what he said/prayed resonated with me and spoke directly to some things in my heart.  God is cool that way.
